Most women suffer from really horrible cramps to the point where we can’t do anything, they just want to stay in bed because the pain will be unbearable.
They are so many ways that we can try and alleviate the cramps. It could be naturally or by using over the counter medications, some people don’t like using medication so they are alternative options that can be used such as: essential oils. These oils can be used at home, when you travel or at work.
Massaging essential oils mixed with a carrier oil (such as grape seed or sweet almond oil) on your lower back and abdomen will help with making you feel better.
Essential oils are commonly used in skincare products and some foods. They’re also recognized as powerful aromatherapy tools for easing stress and anxiety. Few oils, however, actually have enough clinically significant research to support their use as a medical treatment beyond aromatherapy.
Here is a list of some essential oils that can be used:
. Ylang Ylang
One of my favorite tried and test mixes is:
- 5 tablespoons of your favorite carrier oil (I use grape seed)
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
- 12 drops clary sage essential oil
- 10 drops marjoram essential oil
Combine all ingredients thoroughly in a glass bottle or container. Gently massage into the abdomen and lower back every day between periods for best results. Store in a cool dark place.
After massaging the areas place a warm cloth, hot water bottle or heat pad, this will help the essential oils work more efficiently and effectively.
